The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
