The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
