Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
