Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
