But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ How far, how far, is that which you are promised. 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Yet whenever its Messenger came to a nation they belied him, so We made them follow others, and We made them but as tales, so begone the nation who did not believe! 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
