Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
