50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
