Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
