Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
