The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
