Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
