The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
