We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Or shall We make those who believe and do righteous deeds as the workers of corruption in the earth, or shall We make the godfearing as the transgressors? 28 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot; 31 He said: verily I have loved the love of earthly good above the remembrance of my Lord until the sun hath disappeared behind the veil. 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 and We also subjected the devils to him -- all kinds of builders and divers; 37 And others fettered in chains. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 And verily, he enjoyed a near access to Us, and a good final return (Paradise). 40
