Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,- 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 or add to it [at will]; and [during that time] recite the Qur'an calmly and distinctly, with thy mind attuned to its meaning. 4 We are about to reveal to you a mighty word. 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 Remember the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 choking food and a painful punishment. 13 One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? 17 [the Day] on which the skies shall be rent asunder, [and] His promise [of resurrection] fulfilled? 18 This, surely, is an admonition. So let him who will, take the right path to his Lord. 19

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
