The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A book inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
