And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
