The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great event, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
