The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
