Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
