NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
