In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
