We have made constellations in the sky and decorated them for the onlookers. 16 We have protected them from every condemned devil, 17 so that anyone who seeks to learn [the unknowable] by stealth is pursued by a flame clear to see. 18 And the earth! We have stretched it out and have cast thereon mountains firm, and We have caused to spring up thereon everything weighed. 19 and provided thereon means of livelihood for you [O men] as well as for all [living beings] whose sustenance does not depend on you. 20 And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We send it not down except in a known measure. 21 And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof. 22 It is indeed We Who grant life and cause death and it is We who shall be the sole Inheritors of all. 23 To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind. 24 And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing. 25
