(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
