The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
