The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
