Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
