The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
