The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
