The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them.
