We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
