Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
