The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a host of the ancients 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and shade extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
