The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
