The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
