The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 Who hath created and then proportioned, 2 Who determines and directs, 3 The One Who produced pasture. 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget, 6 Except what Allah, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. 7 We shall make all your tasks easy. 8 So remind, if the reminder should benefit; 9 He who fears [God] will heed the reminder, 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 But those will prosper who purify themselves, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 16 whereas the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
