By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
