In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
