And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
