And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
