Nay, by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
