▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
