The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
