Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
