And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 Cast ye twain into Hell every person rebellious, contumacious. 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 and has set up another deity with Allah. Hurl him into the grievous torment.” 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." 29
