Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 And those that strike violently, 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
