And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
