Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
