The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
