Did you not see that We sent devils upon the disbelievers, so they excite them abundantly? 83 Therefore, do not hasten (things) against them, for We count out to them a number, 84 On the Day when We shall gather the Godconscious unto [Us,] the Most Gracious, as honoured guests, 85 and We shall drive the sinful like a thirsty herd into Hell. 86 On that Day none will have the power to intercede for them except those who received a sanction from the Most Compassionate Lord. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Assuredly, you have uttered a monstrous falsehood: 89 The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation 90 That they should ascribe unto the Compassionate a son. 91 But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). 92 All those who are in the heavens and the earth will come to the Most Gracious as His bondmen. 93 He has indeed counted them, and He has numbered them exactly. 94 And each one of them will come before Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 The Lord of Mercy will bestow affection upon those who believe and perform righteous deeds. 96 So have We made the (Qur'an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous, and warnings to people given to contention. 97 And how many a generation have We destroyed before them! Do you see any one of them or hear a sound of them? 98
