The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 full of love, well-matched 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
