Iron (Al-Hadeed)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies God -- He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 1 His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, It is He Who gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things. 2 He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward, and He is of everything the Knower. 3 He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is firm in power; He knows that which goes deep down into the earth and that which comes forth out of it, and that which comes down from the heaven and that which goes up into it, and He is with you wherever you are; and Allah sees what you do. 4 His is the dominion of the heavens and earth. And to Allah are returned [all] matters. 5 He brings the night in a part of the day, and brings the day in a part of the night; and He knows what lies within the hearts. 6 Accept faith in Allah and His Noble Messenger, and spend in His cause from what He has made you the heirs of; so for those among you who accepted faith and spent in His cause, is a great reward. 7 What aileth you that ye believe not in Allah, when the messenger calleth you to believe in your Lord, and He hath already made a covenant with you, if ye are believers? 8 It is He who sends down upon His Servant [Muhammad] verses of clear evidence that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And indeed, Allah is to you Kind and Merciful. 9 And why should you not spend freely in the cause of God, seeing that God's [alone] is the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Not equal are those of you who spent and fought [in God's cause] before the Victory [and those who did not do so]: they are of a higher rank than those who would spend and fight [only] after it - although God has promised the ultimate good to all [who strive in His cause], and God is aware of what you do. 10
